Back in April 2024, we booked a room at the newly renovated Grand Hotel Zagreb. It caught our eye when we were passing from the freeway, and we decided to give it a shot next time we were in Zagreb. We paid our stay, so this is not a review in exchange for a free stay. I am happy to report that the hotel reached our expectations.

Grand Hotel Zagreb, newly renovated and resplendent, stands as a beacon of elegance in the western part of Croatia’s vibrant capital. Whether you’re visiting Zagreb for business or leisure, Grand Hotel Zagreb promises a refined and comfortable stay, complete with the highest standards of service.
In our case, we had a couple of meetings scheduled in the western part of Zagreb, followed by some shopping in the nearby City Center One West, Emmezeta Jankomir, and Bauhauss Jankomir. Once we were done, we were out of Zagreb in less than 5 minutes, due to the close proximity of the highway.

Guests are welcomed into a lobby (3 photos above) that exudes warmth and style, where every detail has been thoughtfully curated to enhance the guest experience. From the plush furnishings to the carefully selected artworks, the hotel’s interior reflects a commitment to quality and taste.
The reception staff was polite and fast, and communicating with them was pleasant. Both check-in and check-out went smoothly.
Luxurious Accommodations at Grand Hotel Zagreb:
Offering a range of luxurious accommodations, each room and suite designed to provide the utmost comfort. The newly renovated rooms feature elegant decor, high-end furnishings, and modern amenities that cater to the needs of travelers. Spacious and well-appointed, the accommodations ensure a restful retreat after a day of exploring the city or attending meetings.
There is an excellent movie collection. We paid to watch BlackBerry, which was released in 2023. It’s a bit technical to activate it (scanning a QR code), but if you are tech-savvy, you should be able to do it without help.
Culinary Excellence:
The on-site restaurant serves a menu that celebrates both international flavors and local Croatian cuisine. Whether you’re in the mood for a gourmet dinner, a casual lunch, or a sumptuous breakfast, the culinary team at Grand Hotel Zagreb delivers with creativity and flair. The stylish hotel bar offers the perfect setting for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap, surrounded by refined relaxation.
The drawback would be that there are not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options, and the “vegetables with tofu” wasn’t anything to write about.

There are three auditoriums and three meeting rooms.
Meeting rooms 25m2, 30m2 and 107m2, while the auditoriums are 115 m2, 421 m2 and 540 m2. These are available for business events, but also for weddings and other events. If you plan to organize an event, you need to reach out to hotel staff well ahead of the deadline and reserve in advance.
Wellness and Relaxation:
For those seeking relaxation, the hotel offers a wellness center where guests can unwind and rejuvenate. The wellness facilities include a heated pool, spa, sauna, and fitness center, providing a range of options for relaxation and exercise. Honestly, if you are into this, you should really ask the hotel staff for the entire list of their offerings. Back when we were there, they had a pool, tepidarium, sauna, ice room, salt room, relax zone, massages, and fitness area. It’s definitely worth checking out.
